Meet Dr. Mario

2018 was a pivotal year for me. My marriage ended, I was bored with my job, and I felt unsatisfied with where I was in life. Although I had a well-paying career in education and a decent apartment in northwest DC, I was haunted by a whisper. Something was telling me that there was more to life than working and paying bills.

Then, the pandemic hit. But I had already reached my breaking point. That whisper I was hearing became a scream. I realized that I couldn’t keep waiting for something to change. I had to take responsibility for making the changes I wanted. That’s when I decided to make my lifestyle transition by launching my business and moving to Puerto Rico.

Lifestyle transitions don’t happen overnight. They require planning and managing your mind.

Moving to an island required careful planning. I also had to learn skills to help me manage anxiety and fear. That required me to adopt a mindset that would help me handle the challenges associated with the move. My experience with making my lifestyle transition left me wanting to help others achieve the change they want for themselves.

Today, I’m helping Gen Xers learn how to think creatively about the future. I created a signature coaching model that gives Gen Xers the permission to ditch the idea of waiting until retirement to enjoy the lifestyle they want now. My clients and I work through the model to get out of the fog and create a clear vision of the life they desire.

We also discover how they can live out what matters most to them. The discovery process helps Gen Xers get curious and learn how to ask the right questions for designing the years ahead. As a result of their journey, my clients develop a commitment to living a value-driven life.

A critical piece of my model involves teaching clients how to manage their minds, so they can release the pressure of making a lifestyle transition. Most importantly, we work closely to plan their shift, so clients don’t leap empty-handed into the unknown.

When I’m not working with clients, I hang out at the beach and explore the island. I’m also a big foodie, so I love eating at local restaurants on the island. When I’m not at the beach, I’m at the gym trying to burn off calories from the delicious food.
