My Journey

I am a veteran educator who believes that student success is not based solely on academic abilities. I also think that earning a degree does not require massive amounts of debt or stress. When a student unlocks their inner potential, they can achieve anything! My focus is on those online students who have experienced challenges in achieving their educational goals.

To achieve academic success, I feel you must bring your whole self to the learning experience, the good, the bad, and the ugly. All these factors led me to launch the Office Hours blog. In the blog, I show you how to tame your brain during the online learning process so you can get your work done and graduate on time.

Here’s a little about me:

     * I earned a Doctorate in education, and I’ve been an instructor and administrator in higher education for the past 20 years.

     * I’ve been a student even longer. I still take classes from time to time. I love learning new things!

     * Teaching is my passion, and it keeps me busy.  During my career, I’ve taught over 2,300 students face-to-face and online. That’s right; you didn’t read that wrong.  I've taught a lot of students over the years.

     * I know when and where students get stuck in their educational journey, and I teach them how to get them unstuck so they can finish their classes and graduate! That’s why I decided to become an Online Learning Coach, so I could teach more students the skills they need to succeed.
